Chapter 2399
Theonโs face darkened. โAndrew, youโd better wise up. Even if your alchemy is superior, Iโm hardly lacking in skill myself. General Phelan didnโt come here just to learn alchemy. Sheโll need to interact with various professionals in the alchemy field and deal with the Divine Alchemists. I would be her guide, the most suitable mentor for her. You, on the other hand, only know how to shut yourself away and craft elixirs; you have nothing else to offer.โ
Andrew curled his lip dismissively. โAlchemy is alchemy. Why complicate it with extras? Theon, thatโs exactly why your skills are second-rate and your mind is scattered in too many directions.โ
Luna suddenly spoke up with hopeful anticipation. โMr. Lloyd, would you possibly be willing to teach me alchemy?โ
Andrew shook his head directly. โIโm afraid not.โ
Everyone at the table was caught off guard by his blunt refusal. Even Theon had not expected this.
He actually rejected Luna? She was someone every alchemist would fight to take under their wing.
โThis arrogant fool just made a huge mistake!โ Theon thought with an internal smirk.
By putting on airs and acting superior, Andrew had handed him the perfect opportunity on a silver platter.
Leslieโs voice rose with indignation. โMr. Lloyd, what do you mean by that? General Phelan graciously asked you, and you rejected her. At least give us a reason.โ
Andrew snorted coldly. โThereโs no reason to give. I donโt want to; itโs too much trouble, Iโm not in the mood, Iโm not bothered, and I lack the patience. Do those reasons suffice for you?โ
Leslie opened her mouth to respond, but found herself completely silenced. Under normal circumstances, she would have been furious and responded with sharp sarcasm.
However, now that she had come to Chetvine and learned that Andrew was the Dragon Prince of the Lloyd family, she did not dare challenge him. He was far beyond her reach, the kind of man who could humble her a hundred times over.
Lunaโs face flushed slightly with embarrassment. She was rarely refused by anyone, let alone by someone whose favor she was actively seeking. As she looked at Andrew, anger and hurt welled up inside her simultaneously, and her expression turned noticeably colder.
โLeslie, thatโs enough. If I canโt reach Mr. Lloydโs standards no matter how hard I try, then thereโs no point in pursuing it further.โ
Mikayla seized the perfect moment to interject. โWell, General Phelan, itโs nice to meet you. Iโm Mikayla Owens. Iโd like to recommend Mr. Orben as your teacher. Heโs really the most suitable choice for you.โ
Luna turned to look at the newcomer and nodded politely. โMs. Owens, hello.โ
Mikayla smiled sweetly, walking over to stand beside Theon. โMr. Orben,โ she greeted, her tone dripping with warmth.
Theon nodded, his expression easing. โMikayla, youโre here,โ he said approvingly.
Mikayla took a seat beside him and looked at Luna again. โGeneral Phelan, I came to study at Sovereignโs Apothecary before you did. Iโm now a sixth-grade potion master. Frankly, the best mentor here is Mr. Orben. Others might have talent, but when it comes to actual teaching, no one compares to him.โ
Luna seemed intrigued by this information. โMs. Owens, youโve already reached sixth-grade status?โ
Mikayla smiled confidently. โThatโs right. General Phelan, weโre both women, and weโre both gifted, so thereโs no need for excessive explanations between us. You should be able to see from my progress exactly which mentor would accelerate your own growth in alchemy the fastest.โ
