Chapter 2313
Sheena sneered. โMind your own business! Iโm leaving. Screw you and your wives! I hope your kids are troublemakers and give you endless headaches. Anyway, if the military canโt hold the line, theyโll come begging you sooner or later.โ
โWhether you go or not is up to you, but Grandpaโs wish is that you step in. Personal grudges are nothing in the grand scheme of things. National duty comes first. You can throw a tantrum, Andrew, but we all know youโll always see yourself as a soldier.โ
Aspen scoffed proudly. โNatasha, you donโt need to be afraid of Sheena anymore! Look, Iโve only been here two days and Iโve already figured her out. Sheโs a tomboy, sloppy, and spends all day doing nothing. With people like her, youโve got to hit back and make her suffer, so next time she wonโt dare bully you.โ
Natasha looked impressed. โAspen, youโre amazing! Sheโs a martial emperor, and you still dared to argue with her. If it were me, Iโd never have the guts.โ
Aspenโs face went pale. โWait, hold on a second. What did you say Sheenaโs strength level is? Sheโs a martial emperor?โ
Natasha nodded. โYeah, thatโs right. Hard to believe, isnโt it? Back in Gabo Creek, our entire province didnโt have a single person that strong. But Sheenaโs level is higher than Darlingโs.โ
Aspen waved her hands, her smile collapsing into near tears. โI had no idea she was a martial emperor! Oh my goodness, honey, I thought she was just some bully trying to steal your inheritance.
โAnd look at her! Sheโs so plain-looking that I didnโt even bother taking her seriously. If Iโd known, I wouldโve gladly washed her feet and obeyed her every word. What do I do now? Iโve gotten us into trouble!โ
Seeing her panicked reaction, Andrew found it amusing. โRelax, nothingโs going to happen. Sheena has many faults, but if thereโs one thing thatโs great about her, itโs that sheโll settle any grievances she has with you right there and then.
โIf she left, it means she didnโt take it to heart at all. But from now on, donโt ever mention her not being married. Thatโs the one thing that hurts her more than death.โ
Aspen finally let out a huge sigh of relief. The Lloyd family was wild enough as it was, but to think a gossiping lady could also be a martial emperor? That was too much for her to handle.
Natasha asked curiously, โDarling, Luna knows you, doesnโt she? If she falls behind in her fight against Ezekiel, will you step in?โ
Andrew shook his head. โNo. I donโt feel like it.โ
Aspen clenched her fists. โBut Ezekiel is unbearable! We welcomed him politely when he came to Chetvine, yet he turned around and challenged the Martial Tower. Isnโt that just slapping our nation in the face?โ
Andrew laughed lightly. โSlapping Holtrien in the face? Ezekiel doesnโt even qualifyโฆ Heโs nowhere close. What heโs really after is something else. Showing off at Martial Tower is just a way to intimidate and establish himself.โ
Aspen shook her head. โBut we canโt just stand by and let him take Martial Tower! I canโt stand Luna, with her arrogance and holier-than-thou attitude, but if even she loses, then no one will be able to stop Ezekiel.โ
Andrewโs eyes turned sharp. โLunaโs got plenty of potential and tricks up her sleeve. But Ezekiel isnโt just fighting for himself; he carries the weight of Soryaโs entire martial destiny. Plus, heโs backed by the Tristars Groupโs Blood-Eye Chairman and Waylon pushing him from behind.
โIf Luna tries to stop him on her own, sheโs probably not going to succeed. But again, what does any of this have to do with me?โ
Natasha and Aspen quietly exchanged glances. Both women were perceptive and could see that their man, though acting indifferent with his words, actually cared deeply inside.
If Ezekiel stomped all over the militaryโs pride, could Andrew, who once wore the uniform and swore an oath, really sit back and stomach it? Not a chance.
