Listen to this chapter:

Ezekiel said nothing, but his face gradually darkened. Without making it obvious, he glanced at the beautiful woman beside him.

The Soryan woman was Ezekielโ€™s personal bodyguard and technical specialist. She shook her head at Ezekiel. This meant she was telling him that the device was working fine. So, there was no way to prove that Andrew had stolen the Blackstar Crystal.

โ€œAlright, enough with all this scanning. Does this thing even work?โ€ Finally, Andrew made his move and slapped the device away with one hand.

Ezekiel suppressed his rage and laughed coldly. โ€œAndrew, youโ€™ve got some real skills, managing to slip past this.โ€

Andrew looked disdainful as he replied, โ€œI already told you that I stole it. Too bad you donโ€™t have proof, so what can you do about it? Anyway, goodbye!โ€

He pushed past Ezekiel and Kyrie and walked away with big strides, taking Aspen and Natasha with him.

The two Soryan women beside Ezekiel were about to make their deadly move.

โ€œDonโ€™t moveโ€ฆ At least not now. Itโ€™s not the right time,โ€ Ezekiel ordered in Soryan.

Kyrie could not believe it. โ€œAre we just going to let him walk away like that? Youโ€™re really going to let him go?โ€

Ezekiel sneered. โ€œIf I donโ€™t let him go, then Iโ€™d appreciate it if you, General, could keep him here for me. Can you do that?โ€

Kyrie frowned. โ€œWhat do you mean? Are you mocking me?โ€

Ezekiel looked contemptuous. โ€œIโ€™m not mocking you. Iโ€™m looking down on you! If youโ€™ve got what it takes, then go take him down yourself. My grudge with him can be settled separately. But if you donโ€™t have the skills and canโ€™t touch Andrew, then please crawl away and stay out of the way! Thereโ€™s a saying you Holtrien people like to use: a true man walks openly, a petty man lives in constant fear. Kyrie, youโ€™re just a useless petty man, you know that?โ€

He mocked, โ€œYou are just a useless petty person, got it? You want to watch me and him destroy each other so you can pick up the pieces. Damn it, what the hell are you?โ€

Being insulted like this, Kyrie threw a punch. โ€œYou bastard, I was trying to help you out, and you turn around and trash-talk me. Ezekiel, screw you. I am going to kill you!โ€

This was already the second conflict with Ezekiel. Honestly, Kyrie really could not stand Ezekiel. He did not treat him like a brigadier general at all, which was something Kyrie could not tolerate.

Ezekiel stood perfectly still. โ€œKyrie, you donโ€™t need to rush. The time for us to make our move is coming soon.โ€

Kyrieโ€™s fist stopped just short of Ezekielโ€™s nose, the force sending a gust of wind across his face. โ€œNot dodging or flinching, huh? Guess youโ€™ve got some guts after all. Fine, why wait for another day? How about we step outside right now and settle this?โ€

Days of pent-up frustration and anger pushed Kyrie to the edge, and he was itching to carve Ezekiel up. Of course, he was not stupid either. He had another thought brewing.

If he beat Ezekiel head-on, right here in Chetvine, then his reputation would skyrocket within Holtrien itself.

Ezekiel said coldly, โ€œKyrie, I told you, donโ€™t rush. On my way here, I already spoke to General Turman. I will be submitting an official declaration, and in my nationโ€™s name, Iโ€™m formally challenging Holtrienโ€™s Martial Tower. To the deathโ€ฆ nothing less.โ€

The words hit like thunder. Luna and Kyrie both stiffened, their faces tightening with shock.

Luna spoke firmly. โ€œMr. Beckett, a duel between nations is not childโ€™s play. Donโ€™t you dare joke about this.โ€
