“What’s the situation?”
“It should just be intimidation,” said Ashley. “Hector didn’t come out, which meant his parents are fine. The other party probably sent some photos to scare him. I have to say, this method is very effective–Hector wouldn’t dare make a mistake next time.”
This time, the targeted patient was a soon-to-retire procurement officer, admitted for an appendectomy. It was originally a surgery with a very high success rate. “Is it related to the Hall Group?” asked Chris.

Since Michael had already returned to Aitairy, this matter could only be handled by Hall Group internally. The person behind the scenes wouldn’t allow anyone from the Hall family to take so much money. They wanted to act before he retired and force him to give it all back. The tactic was simply disgusting.
“What do we do now? Should we just call Hector in and talk to him?”
Chris entered the study, still holding half a glass of juice. He pulled out a chair, sat down, thought for a moment, and then shook his head. “No. Hector was already extremely paranoid. His mental state is unstable right now. If we rashly tried to negotiate, it would backfire. “Do you think Hector knows about Megan?”
He definitely did. If even Megan could find out about Hector and knew it was his signature, then the attending physician would know even more. The pharmacy records were easier to trace. “Forget it. I’ll go to the hospital tomorrow and take a look. How was the interview with Hurricane Media today?” asked Chris.
Ashley sighed. “Let’s not bring that up. Next time something like this comes up, can’t you send someone else? They kept asking the same question over and over–how do I balance work hours with personal life? How am I supposed to answer that? I just follow the duty roster!”
Chris couldn’t help but laugh. Indeed, those people didn’t understand doctors. Their interviews were never very in-depth.
After hanging up, Chris finished his juice in the study and then used his computer to look up information about Elfa. Previously, there were no photos of Elfa online. Only after this international interview did images of Michael appear. Michael had suddenly transformed from the abandoned son of the Hall family into the president of Aitairy. The one who would have the hardest time adapting to this identity shift should be Luke.
As expected, within a few days, more than half of the businesses under Luke’s control were investigated for tax fraud, reported by insiders. He had acted so obediently in front of Jessica that people forgot he was also a ruthless man.
“Luke didn’t have many businesses to begin with. Losing over half meant almost all his assets were gone. Now the Hall family was already in chaos. Even if Michael returned, he would clearly separate himself from them. He wouldn’t use Aitairy to fill the Hall family’s financial hole.”
