Chapter 193
Upon hearing the news, Madam Felton was sad for quite a while but was eventually cheered up by a few younger family members.
โThatโs right. Your parents were friends, and now you should spend more time together too. Even if youโre not business partners, youโre still friends, and in the future, you can help each other through difficulties,โ said Madam Felton, holding Jessicaโs hand.
Nina and Roy sat across from them. Nina was holding her phone, looking at the trending topics about company artists during the New Year period, while Roy tilted his head, talking with Chris.
โOur family is big but not peaceful. I heard that a few days ago, there was an internal corporate spy in the company who stole a lot of artist information. Itโs really a time when friends are needed.โ
Jessica didnโt know about this. She instinctively glanced at Nina.
Nina looked up from her phone briefly at Jessica and nodded silently. She locked her phone screen and put it aside, propping her chin on her hand.
โIt probably happened about a week before the holiday. Some artistsโ data was stolen, but nothing has been exposed publicly yet.โ
โA week ago? We ate together, didnโt we? Why didnโt you say anything?โ
โThere was nothing to say. Iโm just waiting for the bomb to drop, then weโll do crisis PR immediately. But from what I see, the thief didnโt steal the artist data to leak itโthey probably have other plans. I need to wait.โ
Chris wasnโt very familiar with the entertainment industry, but because of Ninaโs rumored relationship with Matthew, he had done some digging on these people.
โThatโs enough. You kids can talk about company matters outside. Iโm tired,โ said Madam Felton.
It seemed Madam Felton wanted to leave space for the younger ones.
No one besides Madam Felton needed visiting in the Felton family. However, when they came out of the room, they saw several people downstairs sitting together, looking up at them.
โYour family is pretty lively,โ Jessica remarked.
Roy didnโt look away from his path and took them to his room.
โGrandmaโs old now. She likes the house to be lively. These people are easy to handleโthey donโt say inappropriate things in front of Grandma. But behind the scenes, Nina and I have heard a lot of gossip.โ
Ninaโs and Royโs rooms were next to each other and connected by an internal door.
The two rooms were already large, and the extra connecting door made it even more surprising.
โOur parents havenโt managed the family affairs these years. The two of us set this up as a precaution. You know I donโt come home often. Having the two rooms connected makes it hard to tell which room is empty.โ
Chris didnโt expect that the Felton family was like this.
โWhy didnโt you tell me? This is an important matter,โ Jessica asked Nina as soon as she sat down.
Nina shrugged. โI thought since it was almost the New Year, Iโd spare you the worries. I already had people tracking them. We checked company surveillance and identified some suspects. My brother will follow up.โ
โItโs convenient to have a cop in the family. No need to call the policeโjust having dinner at home counts as filing a case,โ said Chris.
Nina sighed. โThereโs nothing we can do. There arenโt many things that Roy can do to help me.โ
They stayed in Royโs room until noon before leaving, without staying for lunch.
Francesca called Chris, saying someone was coming to visit and told him to hurry home to be the family mascot.
Fortunately, everything at home was already prepared, so there was no need to shop last minute.
Being the family mascot wasnโt easy!
