She and Grace were people from two different worlds. So, what if they shared the same bloodline?

They had already torn off all pretense, and from now on, their paths would never cross again.

Their contact would be minimal, and with Tessa’s interference, there was no need to stay involved.

If the Walton Corporation ever truly needed help, she might lend a hand out of basic decency, but nothing more.

Grace still had another daughter, after all. Tessa could handle things for her.

Now that Aurora had stepped away from the company, she had no intention of getting involved again.

Lucas said quietly, “I just thought you might still care about family ties, that’s why I brought it up.”

“I do care about family, but when someone like my mother clearly doesn’t care about me, why should I keep forcing myself on her?”

Aurora had always been proud – someone with her own thoughts and principles. She refused to let herself be ruled by emotion.

“No matter how much I long for family, I can see the bias in her eyes. If I keep chasing after such an empty bond, wouldn’t that be the same as a moth flying into the flame?”

Hearing this, Lucas’s eyes brightened slightly.

He hadn’t expected Aurora to be so clear-minded. At times, he even felt she was wiser than he was. She didn’t just see the surface of things, but their essence.

“It’s good that you can think this way,” Lucas said with genuine admiration. It was rare to meet someone as decisive as Aurora.

Most people spent their lives tangled in attachments, but she could face them calmly and move forward – that alone showed her strength.

“Don’t worry, from now on, things will only get better for us. I won’t let emotions hold me back either.”

Aurora understood perfectly well that she had once cared too much about Grace’s opinion.
