"Sheโ€™s not just shy," Jasmine said softly. "Nora has special needs."

Megan finally understood. No wonder Nora had only nodded from time to time while she spoke. Sheโ€™d thought the little girl was just quiet or not very familiar with her.

"Now that you mention it, it makes sense," she said gently.

Jasmineโ€™s voice grew thick with emotion. "Even with us, she almost never responds like that. Today was the first time sheโ€™s nodded in someone elseโ€™s arms. Thatโ€™s why we were so touched."

"We donโ€™t ask for much, just that you come by and spend time with her whenever you can. That alone would mean everything."

"Of course," Megan said earnestly, her heart swelling with compassion for Nora. "Whenever Iโ€™m free, Iโ€™ll come."

"Thatโ€™s really wonderful," Jasmine replied quickly, smiling through her tears. "Would you like me to have the driver take you home?"

"Oh, thatโ€™s alright. I drove myself," Megan said with a polite smile, declining the offer.

"Alright then, come again when you can," Jasmine said warmly.

Megan nodded and turned to leave.

Watching her go, Jasmine couldnโ€™t help but feel deeply moved. She could only hope Megan would really be able to help Leonard and Nora. It would lift a heavy weight off their hearts.

When she returned to the room, Richard was sitting with Nora in his arms. He looked up and asked, "So? Will Megan be coming back next time?"

"She will," Jasmine replied with relief. "Sheโ€™s a wonderful girl. She promised she and Leonard are close friends and said sheโ€™d definitely come again. Itโ€™s something she feels responsible for."

Hearing that, Richardโ€™s eyes softened with gratitude. "That girlโ€™s a blessing to our family. We must find a way to thank her properly."

Jasmine nodded, equally earnest. "Before she visits next time, weโ€™ll think of something meaningful to give her. Money doesnโ€™t matter, but kindness does."

Meanwhile, Tessa returned to the company.

She thought about what her mother had said, and about how people in the office kept comparing her to Aurora. Since that was the case, she had to prove herself and show everyone she wasnโ€™t worthless.

Tessa called her assistant over and told him to bring out all the longโ€“pending projects.

"No problem."

The assistant moved quickly, handing over a pile of projects that had been sitting idle for some time.

As Tessa flipped through them, her brows furrowed.

She recognized these executivesโ€“they were the same ones Aurora used to manage, the kind of old foxes who never listened, always scheming, and taking advantage whenever they could.

Workplace politics practically dripped off them.

"Why are these all from those people?"

Tessaโ€™s voice carried clear irritation.

The assistant scratched his head awkwardly. "Didnโ€™t you tell me to bring the backlogged projects? These are the ones no one has handled for ages; thatโ€™s why theyโ€™ve piled up until now."

"Donโ€™t you know what kind of people they are?" Tessa sneered. "Working with them is a disgrace to Walton Corporation. Theyโ€™re like roaches crawling in the gutter. Whatโ€™s there to cooperate on with them?"
