“Dad, it makes me really happy that you know me so well.” Lucas’s lips curved faintly.

“You’re my son. If I don’t understand you, then who would I understand?”

“In that case, why don’t you take over the company, and I’ll go travel with my wife?” Lucas said without hesitation.

Edward was speechless.

Without a second thought, he strode quickly toward Diana. “Honey, I think we need to give Aurora the warmest welcome, and we owe her an apology too. It’s all our son’s fault for keeping her hidden from us for so long.”

Lucas was speechless.

Once again, he realized just how low his standing truly was.

But the thought he had blurted out stuck with him. The more he considered it, the more feasible it seemed.

If his father could spend so long traveling with his wife on a second honeymoon, why couldn’t he do the same?

They had been married for decades. He, on the other hand, was still a newlywed.

With that in mind, Lucas decided he would bring it up again over dinner.

Meanwhile, the servants‘ curiosity about Aurora had finally been satisfied.

But now, seeing Aurora, they realized there was someone who could stand on equal footing with him.

The entire estate was filled with an air of joy.

The butler, however, noticed something else–before Aurora arrived, Edward and Diana seemed burdened by a secret.

He understood now: they had been worried about Lucas‘ marriage.

Now that Lucas had found his other half, Edward and Diana no longer had anything to worry about.

At dinner, Aurora sat beside Diana, with Lucas naturally taking the seat next to her.

Throughout the entire meal, Lucas barely had a chance to step in.

Aurora’s plate was never empty once.

The moment she finished a shrimp, Diana would already have another one peeled and placed on her plate.

Aurora began to feel embarrassed. “Mom, please, eat some yourself. I can take care of myself.”

But Diana only looked at her with concern. “Just look at you–so skinny, hardly any weight on you at all. You need to eat more.”

“Mom, that’s just how she is.” Lucas could tell Aurora was struggling.

He knew her appetite well–eating too much would only make her uncomfortable.

Overeating would affect her digestion, and he had always believed it was best to eat just enough for the sake of health.

After saying this, Lucas shot Edward a meaningful glance.

Catching it, Edward quickly spoke up, “Alright, let’s leave that part to Lucas. He hasn’t had a chance to show his care for his wife this whole meal.”

Then, with a teasing smile, he added, “Besides, didn’t we agree we were going to teach him a lesson? Letting him peel shrimp for her can be part of his punishment.”

Hearing that, Aurora almost burst out laughing. She hadn’t expected Edward to have such a humorous side.
