Lucas was just about to agree when he heard his father sigh on the other end. “Well, I’ll be damned. Never thought I’d see the day you settled down. I can’t imagine what poor girl went and lost her senses enough to fall for you.”

Lucas was speechless.

In his father’s eyes, was he really that worthless?

Irritated, he replied, “If you’ve got nothing else to say, hang up. I still have work to handle here.”

“Fine, fine. Sons grow up and can’t be kept.”

With that, Edward ended the call before Lucas could.

Lucas let out a long sigh.

His father really was regressing as he got older.

If it hadn’t been for Edward insisting on traveling with his mother and talking about retirement after only three years, how could Lucas have ended up taking over the company so soon?

Thinking about it, Lucas couldn’t help but sigh again.

Dealing with his father would just have to be his own problem.

Meanwhile, Aurora and Ian were discussing Daniel’s project.

“I don’t need to explain how important the Southside land project is.”

Ian quickly nodded. “Don’t worry, boss, I understand completely.”

“Good. This project is about to break ground, but the site data hasn’t been fully measured. When you have time, go to the site yourself and take the measurements. Don’t hand this off to anyone else.”

“I understand.” Ian neither refused nor complained.

He knew very well how crucial accurate measurements were in the construction field.

If a project’s data was wrong, it meant the foundation itself wasn’t solid.

No matter how tall the building went up afterward, it wouldn’t be stable.

Of course, Ian understood how important it was that Aurora entrusted him with this task.

He would never let her down.

“Alright, what do you think of these two new employees?” Aurora asked Ian privately.

Jan gave her a serious, responsible report. “Both of them are very diligent. They don’t cut corners in their work. With their help, my workload has eased quite a bit, and they’re both very perceptive.”

“It’s just that Henry doesn’t talk much, but he’s the type who gets things done.”

Hearing Ian’s words, full of praise, Aurora felt reassured.

Thinking it over, she realized Ian had no reason to hide anything from her.

After all, finding the right employees laid a solid foundation for his own work as well.

That way, he saved himself the trouble too.

Why would he bother lying to her? Wouldn’t that only cause problems for himself?

Aurora felt truly comforted.

“Looks like the three of us made the right call from the start. Since we’ve found the right people, I can rest easy. When I go to record the program, the studio will be in your hands. Don’t feel you need to ask me about every little thing–if there’s something you really can’t decide, just message me. The director mentioned there may be times when phones are collected. If I’m late getting back, handle things in whatever way you believe is best.”

“Thank you, boss. I’ll definitely take good care of the studio.”

Ian was deeply grateful Aurora gave him this chance.

After all, such responsibilities had never fallen on him before.

And since she was entrusting him to handle matters, it meant she trusted him completely.
