Chapter 1168
Leon: โ?โ
He stared at Megan in disbelief.
Faced with such a clueless Megan, he didnโt even know whether to comfort her or scold her.
Honestly, if heโd been in that guyโs place, he wouldnโt have been kind to her either.
How could she say something like that with such confidence?
Leon was starting to wonder what on earth went on in Meganโs head.
Dragging another manโs wife out to a nightclubโnever mind that she was her cousinโs wifeโeven if it were just a friendโs wife, it was completely out of line.
โSo what are you planning to do now?โ Leon asked at last.
Even as the words left his mouth, he couldnโt believe he was asking such a ridiculous question.
Megan just shrugged, arms wide. โWhat can I do? Iโll just leave it to fate.โ
Leon looked at her in disbelief. He hadnโt expected her to take it so lightly.
Sometimes, he almost envied herโno matter what happened, she managed to keep this strange kind of optimism.
โYouโve been drinking. Why donโt I take you home?โ Leon offered gently.
But Megan gave him a long once-over. โWhat, you mean you havenโt been drinking too?โ
The question left Leon momentarily speechless.
So, she wasnโt nearly as drunk as he thoughtโshe knew exactly what she was saying.
โStill, I canโt let you go home alone. I wouldnโt feel right about it.โ
Whatever happened, Leon was determined to see her back safely tonight.
The last time, he hadnโt managed to learn where she lived. This time, he wasnโt about to miss the chance.
But Megan waved him off. โNo need. I know the way back myself. Besides, I didnโt drink that much tonightโIโm perfectly clear-headed.โ
Leon frowned, about to say more, but Megan pressed a finger to her lips. โShh. Quiet. If you keep talking, youโll just start to annoy me.โ
Hearing that, Leon could only fall silent, reluctantly giving in to her wishes.
Under his gaze, Megan walked to the barโs entrance, flagged down a cab, and left.
Since sheโd been drinking, she left her car behindโshe could always have someone pick it up tomorrow.
Leon stood helplessly, watching her go, wondering when he would ever win over this oblivious woman.
One of his buddies slung an arm around his shoulder, teasing, โCome on, man, this isnโt like you. After all this time, you still havenโt made a move on her?โ
He knew Leon liked Megan.
But seeing him keep his feelings buried for so longโit was surprising, even for a close friend.
โYou donโt get it,โ Leon muttered, brushing his friendโs arm off.
His buddy blinked at him, then chuckled. โFine, I donโt get it. But youโre the one wasting time. If you donโt make a move soon, she might slip awayโand then youโll be the one crying.โ
Leon said nothing, but the words echoed in his mind.
There was truth in them.
Still, with someone as clueless as Megan, what could he do? He couldnโt force her.
Theyโd known each other this long, and he didnโt even know where she lived. Who would believe that?
His buddy sighed. โIf you werenโt my brother, I wouldnโt even bother reminding you. When it comes to women, youโve got to be more direct. At the very least, let her know how you feel.โ
