HR smiled. “It’s fine, Mr. Lewis, I understand.” She had never liked the secretary anyway, with her foxy charm and over-the-top mannerisms. That was exactly why, when she acted that way at the door just now, everyone poked their heads out to watch the spectacle. The secretary simply wasn’t someone worth pitying.
